Danny, Wingletang Little Daniel, was our first Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. 1990 was the year he was purchased from Mary Westlake in Redruth, Cornwall. From the moment we saw him our love affair with the breed began.

Danny was mis-marked as he was missing a chestnut patch on his left eye. The imperfection of marking had no affect on his adorable character. True to the breed, he was loyal, affectionate and patient.

When I was sick he would lie by my side with an ever watchful eye. As a new cavie owner we had a lot to learn! Danny had a testicle that didn’t descend, which turned cancerous and robbed us of this wonderful dog at only 5 years of age.

Even to this day I fill up with tears at the memory of this wonderful little guy. Like Mary Queen of Scots, Danny was devoted and even on his last day of life lying weak and unable to lift his head off of the veterinary operating table he still managed to wag his tail at the sight of me entering the room to say my last farewell.
