Alstaron Prince Edward of Featherfalls, Blenheim in colour, was bred by Mr Nicholas of Horrabridge, Yelverton. I purchased Eddie, his pet name, as a Eddiereplacement for our very old lady Lucy, whose health was failing at the time. Eddie was a bundle of fun just like all pups and soon became a gentleman of a dog. Whatever you do with Ed he will patiently tolerate, so gentle is he, that even when the girls manage to take his treats he will not take them back, instead he will come and fetch me to take it back for him. When Misty was a pup he spent a lot of time playing with her and his beautiful ears became past glory, just as they were growing back, in came Una and kindly repeated the trim.

He is a total entertainer, at his first dog limit obedience competition he remained in the stays while continuously glancing back and forth between myself and the two cavalier bitches that were also in attendance. Although only placed 5th he still received the trophy for highest placed dog.. He regularly attends dog training and has at present the bronze and silver award in the Good Citizen Kennel Club scheme.

Ed really is such a loveable, affectionate character, anyone with an open cut he wishes to give a helping healing lick, dog, cat, human, it doesn’t matter what species, I call him Dr Dolickle when he’s donning his medicinal behavior. He is a sweet natured, charming dog, who never ceases to keep everyone amused.

Eddie at present, 17/10/07 has been cleared of MVD heart disease and MRD/HC eye diseases.

NB: clearance of a murmur does not mean that it cannot develop later  in life. 50% of cavaliers have a murmur by the age of 6yrs, but not all require treatment. As a responsible owner heart checks should be repeated yearly.
