Within two days of losing Danny I was so heartbroken that the pain could only be eased by filling the huge void that Danny left with our second Cav Lucy, Lucy was a sweetie. Always close at hand. She would become confused if my husband and I became separated by any distance, she would pause to make sure that we were both within sight. Lucy, like many cavs, endured a serious heart murmer by the age of 9 years. She was a tough lady, she continued on 3 years after the diagnosis, endured two operations that the vets never expected her to come through, along with arthritis. She spent many years with the cats as her companions until we purchased Eddie in 2005. Often she would lie with her feline friends when we were out and about. Lucy passed away in 2007 but remains forever in our memories. Cavaliers seem to bond deeply with their owners, touching their lives as children do. |
